Did you know that there is a Dance club located on Disney property? If not, you will DEFINITELY want to read this post!
Located on the Boardwalk, right across from Jellyrolls, is the Atlantic Dance Hall. Hours of Operation are 9pm-2am (yes, they do not open until 9!!). There really is not much info on this club online, other than the basic operating hours and that it is a 1940’s style dance club with water views that is often used for weddings and other events. So when I visited last week, I had no idea what to expect.
I had visions of it being like a high school dance…. No one dancing, boys on one side, girls on the other (you know the scene). I thought it’d be so dead that within 20 minutes we would leave. Well guess what?! We ended up LOVING it and staying over 2 hours!!
You must be 21 or older to enter, they do check your ID at the door. Also, to be noted… there is no cover charge! So this is a free dance club, which for Disney is pretty remarkable! Jellyrolls across the boardwalk is close to $20 cover charge, so the free price made it very very nice!
They do not serve food, but do have a bar. The decor is simple, but you do feel as though you are in a 1940’s dance hall. It’s very retro, but very cool. There are two floors (the balcony was closed). The dance floor is located a bit below the main level and is framed by a large stage where the DJ spins his tunes and plays the videos for all to watch (while the music plays, the music video for each song runs in the back).
The music varies… contemporary, 80’s, rock, rap… you name it, they’ll play it! They even have a request list!
There is no dress code at Atlantic Dance Hall. There were girls in dresses and men in slacks and button up and girls in shorts and guys super casual. I wore jeans and a lightweight fitted sweatshirt (it had been chilly in Orlando) paired with Converse. Clothes were fine, however, after all of the dancing, I was super hot! So definitely keep that in mind! I also wore these super simple mouse ears, which were PERFECT for a night of dancing! Super comfy!
The club by no means was busy. In the beginning there was actually no one on the dance floor, but once people started to show up and dance, it became so much fun!
I cannot recommend Atlantic Dance Hall enough!! It was such a fun time… we actually preferred it over Jellyrolls! It’s just so much fun to get up and dance!!!
