For those of you that don’t know, Eric and I recently relocated from Palm Beach, Florida up to Orlando. Why the sudden change in scenery (and let me tell you, change it was! We used to live 20 minutes from the beach, and our daily drives consisted of palm trees and Air Force One spottings - Now, we are more or less landlocked, nearest beach is over an hour away, the types of trees we see are of a more rustic woodsy nature and instead of presidential planes we spot the magical express and Minnie Vans on a daily basis)!
So why the change? This move was not solely based on us wanting to be closer to the parks (however, that was a huge bonus for me). Eric got a job in Orlando, and we decided to take the plunge and move! Moving is stressful and hard and stressful and crazy and did I mention STRESSFUL?! I am so glad that it is behind us! We got a U-Haul, but it wasn't big enough! We had to get a trailer at the last minute! And then the morning of our move a lady hit our parked U-Haul, which was stressful because we needed to get on the road! Depite all of that, I will take moving 2.5 hours in warm weather over moving thousands of miles away with two scared cats in a snowstorm any day (yeah, that was us 4 years ago. Loading your car in freezing temps while snow comes down is miserable! We had to keep taking breaks to go inside to warm our hands. Boy, that was an experience and an adventure).
So after all of the craziness of packing, purging (you better believe there was a TON of purging - you wouldn’t believe the amount of stuff we had), selling, donating, buying (new living room set, say what?!) and organizing the whole move, we are here… in our new place and absolutely loving life as Orlando locals.
