What to Drink Around the World

As you saw in my last post, drinking around the world is a very popular (and VERY fun) activity to do while at Epcot. In that post, I went over some helpful tips to ensure you have a great time while treking around the 11 countries that make up World Showcase. In this post, I am going to highlight the drinks we got, so you will know what to get if you find yourself drinking around the world (or maybe just wanting a new drink while at Epcot)!

Keep in mind, I did not drink these drinks alone... Eric and I split every drink (I would not have been able to consume this much alcohol on my own)! Before I get into what we drank, I thought I'd shed light on how I found these drinks. I'm a planner... I like to do my research. I am a huge fan of reading reviews. So naturally before we set out to drink around the world, I did my homework and created a list of the must try drinks from each country. Some of the must try drinks we had actually tried already, so I opted not to repeat and did not include those on my list. So here goes...

Mexico - Blood Orange Margarita from La Cava del Tequila (inside of the Mexico Pavillion). I am pretty sure we had tried this margarita before, but we really wanted a margarita and this was one of the top ones to try... so we got it (again)! Hands down... this was one of the strongest drinks we tried. You definitely get a good bang for your money! What's in this margarita? Tequila, orange liqueur, earthy sweet-tart mix of blood orange juice, wild berry foam; served on the rocks with a Tajín chili powder on the rim... yum!

Norway - EINSTÖK Icelandic White Ale (found in the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe). Light white draft beer. It was good. I'm not a huge beer drinker, but this was not heavy and tasted very smooth.

China - Mango Gingerita (Joy of Tea stand). This refreshing and fruity drink is made with vodka and rum. We enjoyed this by one of the lakeside standing tables. This drink was good... however, I would have liked more fruit and overall more flavor. I will probably pass on this the next time! Another drink we'd tried on a previous trip was the Kung Fu Punch! This drink was much better I thought (and more fruity)! It is made with Vodka, Triple Sec, mango and orange juice!

Germany - Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen (found at the beer cart). This is a MUST try! It's very refreshing and very light. It has a nice fruity taste, almost like orange soda (I said, ALMOST)! It's light on the alcohol content too... only contains 2.5%

.

Italy - Limoncello Popsicle (found out the drink cart inside of the pavillion, near Via Napoli). Made with fresh raspberries and limoncello liqour... this is such a treat on a hot day! It was fun getting to try something different too (a frozen popsicle)!

America - Frozen Red Stag Lemonade (find at the Fife and Drum). Black cherry-flavored bourbon is mixed with frozen lemonade to create this perfect summertime drink. Refreshing and sweet... I really enjoyed this take on lemonade. Eric found it to be a tad too sweet for his liking.

Japan - Violet Sake (find this at the Garden House stand). The drink is described as "a refreshing balance of Sake, purple pear, and lime juice." Many have compared the vibrant purple drink to a cross between a pruple Jolly Rancher and Violet Lemonade (the Flower and Garden Festival drink that everyone LOVES)! Our opinion on this drink? It is a MUST! It's super fruity and so so yummy! Plus, the bright color makes for the prettiest of photos (expect for mine... don't judge, it was pouring while we drank this)! We've also tried the Tokyo Sunrise, but much prefered the Violet Sake over that!

Morocco - Tangier's Breeze (technically I did not drink this while we drank around the world... we opted to eat in Morocco! However, I have gotten this at Restuarant Merakesh (it is available at the stand outside as well) and it was really good! It's a fruity drink made with Absolut Peach Vodka and topped, Midori and pineapple juice.

France - Champagne (the stand near the water). We usually get the Grand Mariner Orange Slush drink here, but since we'd been drinking quite a bit, we decided to keep it simple and just got champagne. However, the Grand Mariner Slush is a MUST if you have never tried it before! It tops everyone's lists of best drinks at Epcot!

United Kingdom - Leaping Leprachaun (inside of the Rose and Crown pub). Green drink made with rum, vodka, Midori, sweet and sour and Sprite. This was a fun drink (I say fun because of the green color)! We actually liked this drink quite a lot. **I forgot to take a photo, however, I did snap some video. Check out our Instagram... we have a Highlight devoted to "Drink Tour" - it's filled with lots of fun reviews, videos and photos are there!

Canada - La Fin Du Monde (at a stand right on the outskirts of the country). This one we've had MANY times before. This is Eric's all time FAVE beer, so we highly recommend it! It's quite strong and has 9% alcohol content. **Again sadly, no photo.

There you have it... some of the best drinks to get when you drink around the word! If you have a favorite that I didn't include, please leave a comment and let me know! I am always looking for new drinks to try!
