Catch Up

Hi! It’s been awhile… I KNOW! What can I say? Life, as it usually does with these sorts of things, got in the way of my pursuits of writing (not to mention my goal of posting once a week…. Wow, did that go out the window!?). I thought I’d ease my way back into this (by this, I mean writing and posting) and compose a super quick “catch up” post where I do just… Catch you up on our lives these last few months! I’ll be brief… Or, try to last least, HA!

The summer came. We adventured around Disney. My Birthday was in July (we stayed at the Yacht Club, ate at Ale and Compass, got drinks at Trader Sam’s with friends -one of which also shares my exact same birthday… and both he and I share our birthday with America). Watched the fireworks, ate in the castle, swam… If you can believe it, I actually wrote a very nice Birthday review blog post (wrote it directly on our website, which is something I usually don’t do for this very reason I’m about to say… I didn’t save it nor did I post it right away and it’s gone! I think that incident may have helped to contribute to my radio silence on here)!

Mid July marked one year of the meetup group that I started. We celebrated with a special event, I made commemorative pins, gave a little speech (which I am so thankful was recorded, not for what I said, but for what my friend was caught on tape saying to me. The nicest words)  and I will hold those memories and that PERFECT day in my heart forever. And EVER.

We visited Boston. Eric golfed in a charity golf tournament (the tournament was one his grandfather started). I volunteered (I helped the photographer and took in the sights of the New Hampshire mountains where we were). In case you were wondering… Eric’s team came in second!

Went to Disney (a ton)! Got Universal passes, so we started throwing that into the mix. Visited the water parks (both disney AND Volcano Bay). Oh, the perks of living in Orlando!

I went to a meetup a friend hosted. I’m shy and didn’t know anyone, so naturally I was a tiny bit apprehensive. However, I had a great time and met some AMAZING new friends (one of which is now a very dear friend and our first ever brand rep)!

I, myself, hosted quite a few meetups. Lounge crawls, park days and lots of concert trips (Plain White T’s, 98 Degrees and Everclear - Everclear was AMAZING and put on the BEST show! Eric and I both loved getting to jam out to songs from our youth).

We lost a friend. His passing was unexpected and it shook me to my core. August was a hard month. Lots of tears.

We traveled to St. John with my family for 10 days. That vacation was the most amazing trip. It was 10 days of pure relaxation. We swam, visited the beaches, hiked, explored the ruins, snorkeled, saw a shark, had an adventure while hiking that resulted in a park ranger and 2 EMTs having to come to the rescue (yep, that happened)! We watched movies, played pool, woke with the sunrise and ate every meal overlooking the Caribbean sea. It was beautiful and glorious and I miss it terribly every day.

Did I mention I visited the parks a TON? Cast member preview of Galaxy’s Edge. Opening day of Galaxy’s Edge (4am, baby…. I was back home before work)!

Cast member preview of the skyliner. Opening Day of the skyliner. Eric and I rode the Skyliner the day the crash power outtage happened. Illuminations Farewell show… saw it! And got stuck in the parking lot for 3 hours… that was the most horrible experience… but apparently not bad enough to keep us away… we were back at Epcot the VERY next day for…. Epcot Forever, debut show… yep, saw that too! Some weeks I visited the parks 5-6 times. A few days I even hit up both Universal AND Disney! It was tiring and exhausting but I loved every minute of it!

Celebrated Eric’s birthday. Celebrated our wedding anniversary. Drank a lot. Ate a lot. But also ran a ton. I believe we even ran a virtual 5k too!

I think this was everything… at least the highlights that I can remember! I didn’t think this would be that long, guess I was wrong… oh well!

With all of that said… there’s lots to come! More restaurant reviews, some DIY projects, behind the scenes of our business and us and lots more MAGIC!
