Lunch at Le Cellier

Lunch at Le Cellier

Eric and I recently celebrated 5 yEARS (haha, get it?) of marriage. Five years is a long time, so we needed to do quite a bit of celebrating! We spent our actual anniversary in Miami at a fun Halloween party my parents through. Then on Sunday we went to brunch at our favorite resturant, the Sundy House in Delray Beach (we actually got married there and it's become a sort of tradition to visit each year for their delicious brunch). I had made lunch reservations for us at Le Cellier in Epcot for the week right after our anniversary, what can I say, I love celebrations and any excuse to to make a trip up to Disney!

Neither of us had ever eaten at LeCellier before, to be honest with you, neither of us had ever stepped foot in the Canada Pavillion before, unless you count walking THROUGH it! Needless to say, we were both super stoked for lunch. We got to the park around 11:30, which ,meant we had a few hours before our 2:30 lunch reservation. We spent the time snapping photos and riding riding attarctions (gotta love fast passes and single rider line at Test Tract! I actually had scored a Frozen Ever After FP way back when I made the reservation at Le Cellier, so that was a nice treat)!

Right before lunch, we explored the Canada Paviallion and watched the "O, Canada" film, to help us get in the mood for our upcoming meal. By this time, both of our were starving (we purposely did not eat a big breakfast and refraimed from snacking in the park so we wouldn't spoil our appetite).

Upon checking in, we had to wait about 10 min before we were seated. For those of you who have never been to Le Cellier, it is quite an interesting resturant. Thanks to some great Disney magic, the dinning room appears to be located in a stone celler. You really feel as though you are eating under ground (or maybe it was just me?).

Eric got La Fin Du Monde draft beer, which he says was amazing! He liked it so much, he inquired if you can purchase it somewhere outside of Disney (our waitress informed us that it has actually been voted the best beer in Epcot and that she's seen it at Trader Joe's... we'll definitely be on the look out for it)! I got the Victoria Raspberry (which was Dillon's Small Batch Vodka with Fresh-squeezed Lime Juice and Raspberry Purée). I like my drinks fruity and sweet and this cocktail was both of those things! It was refreshing and so yummy!

As for food, we both decided to get the prix fix menu, which cost $49 a person. The menu includes your choice of appetizer, entree, and desert. I got the cheddar cheese soup as my appetizer and Eric got the wedge salad. I loved the soup. It was so cheesy and filled with yummy bacon crumbles. Before the appetizers came out, we were served a basket of bread (including a delicious pretzel bread, which was fantastic dipped in the soup). Oh, and the butter was dusted with maple flavoring which was not too sweet or overpowering. Eric liked his salad, just not the dressing. I tried it and I will say, I was not a fan of it either. We both felt it had an "earthy" taste to it.

For entrees we got the steak and frites (for me) and the burger and mac & cheese (for Eric). Wow, the food was amazing! My steak was so juicy and flavorful. And don't even get me started on the fries! They were covered in what I believe was cheddar and truffles! I have never had such delicious fries before. It should be noted, that even though it was a prix fix menu, the portions were all very substantial. I had a mountain of yummy fries! Eric's burger was also very good. It was served on a pretzel bun and topped with lobster! He thought it was a little messy and said he would get the steak next time! HIs macaronni was a nice side to the burger - very tasty!

By the time we finished our entrees we were stuffed. We actually couldn't eat everything, so we took it to go! We even got one of our desserts to go (the maple chocolate mousse). We would have gotten the maple creme bruelle to go as well, but they said that particular treat could not be taken to go, so we enjoyed the amazing creme brule there. It had a hint of maple flavoring that was very good.

Would we eat at Le Cellier again? Yes, of course! The meal was fantastic! Do we recommend it? Of course! If you ever are looking for a nice resturant at Disney with exceptional food and great service, definitely try Le Cellier!

Oh, and if you couldn't tell, I'm by no means a food blogger, so if this review ilacked depth and proper food verbiage (I do apologize for that lol).
