It’s January 22, which means it’s #nationalpolkadotday (yes, that’s a thing)! Since 2016 January 22 this day has become a celebration of Minnie Mouse herself. Lots of fashionable girls (and guys) prep for this day weeks in advance! They plan their dotted outfits with such careful detail (because, hello, it’s all about the details)! Dots on your bags, finger nails, stockings, dresses, purses and ears (we cannot forget the Minnie ears).
Last year I wore a black dress, red cardi with a Minnie pin, black polka dot tights and dotted fingernails! I looked super cute, but sadly, NO ONE I worked with had the slightest idea of the signifigance of the day (January 22). They just thought I was dressed “cute” (I don’t even think some of my co-workers EVEN noticed anything special about my ensemble…. That’s the thing about National Polka Dot Day (and MOST of such holidays like this), no one really knows about them, but those that DO know… oh, believe me they KNOW and they love it! They love checking out everyone’s creative interpretation of rocking the dots.
I now work from home and basically live in leggings and super comfy tops, so this year I did not rock any dots on January 22. I did however, think of Miss Minnie Mouse and I did post several Minnie-inspired images on Instagram.
If I did happen to be working in an office (and it was rather warm out), you better believe I would have worn this dress! I would have held off on the ears until I was home!
